Castlewellan and Annsborough Angling Club have asked us to promote a free fishing competition they are running for children aged 6 - 16 on Saturday 25th April from 2pm until 5pm in 'Wrights Lough' just past Walter Watsons Steel Works on the Ballylough Rd. If you have your own rod you can bring it along but if not the fishing club will provide all the equipment you need. Prizes will be available on the day and it is really a chance to get young people interested and involved in fishing. Representatives from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure will be at the event and will be giving out free permits for the season to fish all Irish waters including Castlewellan Lake for all interested juveniles. To promote the event Mr Michael McAnallen from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and Mr Sean Fitzpatrick, Castlewellan and Annsborough Angling Club, visited our school on Monday 20th April to speak to the pupils. It promises to be a really fun day.
